Association of over 1000 catalan local authorities affiliates to Electronics Watch
L'Associació Catalana de Municipis (ACM - the Catalan Association of Local Authorities), with over 1000 members, has affiliated to Electronics Watch. 800 of these local authorities use ACM's procurement centre, and 80 are already buying printers through the printers framework agreement containing the Electronics Watch clauses. There are two more framework agreements which will include them when they are renewed: IT and video reporting of plenaries.
Marc Pifarré, Secretary General ACM, said: "The goal of the ACM Purchasing Centre has always been to procure quality supplies, goods and services, following a clear strategy of environmental and social responsibility. Collaboration with Electronics Watch is another step in this direction, from which we expect good results for the local contracting bodies of Catalonia."
Alba Trepat, country representative of Electronics Watch said: "ACM's affiliation to Electronics Watch is a major step forward for Catalan local authorities in terms of engagement with working conditions in their supply chains. Thanks to ACM's procurement centre, small and medium municipalities will be able to benefit from international cooperation with the Electronics Watch network of monitors and other public buyers. I believe that more municipalities will see this social added value and will call off the electronics framework agreements, which are proving to be key tools in supporting ACM's members."
