Electronics Watch Contract Conditions

Electronics Watch Contract Conditions are an effective tool for affiliates to ensure social responsibility in their electronics supply chains. The Contract Conditions are consistent with Directive 2014/24/EU on public procurement and reflect international guidance for public procurement, business and human rights, including the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD Guidelines on Multinational Enterprises.

The Contract Conditions require the contractor to perform due diligence to achieve supply chain transparency, collaborate with independent monitors, and remedy breaches of labour rights and safety standards.

Affiliates to Electronics Watch incorporate the Electronics Watch Contract Conditions or equivalent clauses in their ICT hardware contracts. These are the second-generation Electronics Watch contract clauses (version 2). Electronics Watch has developed them in collaboration with Clyde and Co and they are grounded in part in the academic work of Professor Martin-Ortega.

We have  worked with legal experts to transpose the clauses to legal frameworks in the following countries:

Contract Conditions for Australia

Contract Conditions for Belgium (in Dutch)
