The Electronics Watch Team of Country Representatives

As Electronics Watch grows, so does our team of dedicated representatives. If you are located in the Netherlands, UK, or Spain and would like to find out more about Electronics Watch affiliation, you can contact these representatives at the email addresses below, and they will be happy to give you a detailed presentation, or answer any specific questions you may have.

This month we are delighted to introduce two new representatives. In the Netherlands, Eelco Fortuijn (efortuijn@electronicswatch.org), hosted by SOMO, in Amsterdam. Eelco has an MSc degree in Business Administration from the Erasmus University Rotterdam, and more than 15 years experience addressing fairness and sustainability in global supply chains. He founded Fairfood: a non-profit catalyst for change towards a fair and sustainable food system.  As director of GoedeWaar.nl he created the Garment-checker, a sustainability ranking of 300 garment brands. He has advised members of parliament and various companies and institutions in improving their CSR-policies and practices. According to Eelco:

"For many years I've been passionate about sustainability in global supply chains. The electronics chains are notorious for the frequent violations of human rights and other persistent sustainability problems. I am eager to contribute to improvements via Electronics Watch. I'd like to team up with 'connectors' so we can make a joint effort in creating a firm base for Electronics Watch in the Netherlands. The more cooperation amongst buyers, the more impact we can make."

We also welcome Alba Trepat, Electronics Watch representative in Spain, hosted by SETEM Catalunya (atrepat@setem.org). Alba has Bachelor degrees in Journalism and in Political Science and an MSc in Industry, Trade and Development. At SETEM she was involved in the European project that led to the creation of the Electronics Watch Foundation, and continues to work on projects to defend labour rights in electronics, such as the organisation of the annual Mobile Social Congress in Barcelona.

Electronics Watch's representative in the UK is Harpreet Paul (hpaul@electronicswatch.org), hosted by People and Planet.  Harpreet qualified as a solicitor in September 2010, with practice in procurement law, among other areas. Harpreet has a law degree from King's College London, and a LL.M degree from Birkbeck, and has worked for Global Policy Forum, Amnesty International and REDRESS and currently at the Business, Human Rights and Environment Research Group at Greenwich University, as well as People & Planet.
