Electronics Watch expands affiliation model to include low emission vehicles
Electronics Watch is expanding the scope of its affiliation model to include low emission vehicles (LEV), a major step forward in our efforts to advance responsible public procurement. From January 2026, public buyers will be able to affiliate to Electronics Watch for one or both purchasing categories, electronics and/or automotive.
We are delighted to introduce our first four founding affiliates in the LEV category: Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges (APUC) and Greater London Authority Group (GLA Group) (UK), The Flemish Agency for Facility Operations (Belgium) and Transport for NSW (TfNSW) (Australia). Their leadership and commitment to building more transparent and ethical supply chains in the automotive sector has been crucial in making this expansion possible.
The decision to integrate LEV into our standard affiliation model builds on the success of our LEV Programme, which was established in 2022 and will conclude in December 2025. Over the past three years, the programme has:
- Tested the application of the Electronics Watch impact model in the automotive sector
- Created a forum for peer learning
- Supported participants in embedding social criteria in their LEV procurements
- Engaged suppliers to strengthen supply chain transparency and remedy for human rights abuses identified through worker-driven monitoring
- Produced procurement tools and resources tailored to the LEV sector
